Coming Home

A three-week self-guided introspective writing and creative journaling program for coming home to yourself and reclaiming your power to create.

Take a Soulful Journey Back Home to Yourself

If you are drawn to the Coming Home experience, you are probably on the threshold of a life transition, and you are filled with the desire to reinvent one or more areas of your life. Thresholds are liminal spaces. Each threshold is a passageway from the past into the future. An opportunity to stop and listen to yourself, to hear what your heart is really longing for, to allow yourself to ask for what you really need, and to find your way back home—always to yourself.

Coming Home: A Soulful Journey to Your Innermost Self is a self-paced journaling and introspective writing program for women who are ready to embark on a journey of profound self-discovery to cultivate more joy, inner peace and meaningful fulfillment as they reinvent their lives and reclaim their power to create.

Consisting of 21 Daily Letters, complementary Playsheets and two original sections from Guest Instructors Cynthia Morris and Ronna Detrick,  this three-week program offers you an intimate experience that encourages truth-telling, soul-searching, contemplation, and transformation through reading, writing, storytelling, literature, and creative journaling around the central metaphor of “home.”

As you follow the homecoming path and unearth the translucent strata of your life’s canvas, you will get closer to your innermost self, feel clear and empowered, unleash your creativity, and discover the true sanctuary inside of you. You will feel ready to create what matters and take the steps to change your life in the direction that feels right for you. And you will also fill with joy—for there is nothing more heartwarming and delightful than coming back home to yourself.
"The desire to go home that is a desire to be whole, to know where you are, to be the point of intersection of all the lines drawn through all the stars, to be the constellation-maker and the center of the world, that center called love. To awaken from sleep, to rest from awakening, to tame the animal, to let the soul go wild, to shelter in darkness and blaze with light, to cease to speak and be perfectly understood."

A Unique Experience That Has Transformed Many Women's Lives

I started offering Coming Home: A Soulful Journey to Your Innermost Self in 2013. Since then, this unique creative experience has helped hundreds of women clarify their deepest desires and claim their power to create what really matters to them as they reinvented their lives. This homecoming journey will also help you:

  • Excavate the layers of your current reality to unveil the underlying desires and dreams in your heart.
  • Become more aware of what you really want and what truly nourishes you.
  • See and acknowledge all that you have already accomplished in your life.
  • Get crystal clear about what you no longer want in your life and find ways to let it go.
  • Map the exciting possibilities you see for yourself in the weeks, months and years to come.
  • Enjoy a deeper understanding of who you are and the essence of the work you want to do in the world.
  • Align yourself with your true desire and the vision you have for your life.
  • Rekindle your intuition and your deep-seated power for transformation.
  • Cultivate joy that comes from reconnecting with your truest self.
  • Make a plan to put yourself first and act on it without compromising.
  • Feel calmer and more confident at a deeper level and be ready to make a fresh new start.
“Old paint on a canvas, as it ages, sometimes becomes transparent. When that happens it is possible, in some pictures, to see the original lines: a tree will show through a woman’s dress, a child makes way for a dog, a large boat is no longer on an open sea. That is called pentimento because the painter ‘repented,’ changed his mind. Perhaps it would be as well to say that the old conception, replaced by a later choice, is a way of seeing and then seeing again. The paint has aged and I wanted to see what was there for me once, what is there for me now.”

LILLIAN HELLMAN, from Pentimento

How the Homecoming Journey Works

Each day’s activity consists of a manageable chunk of practical material, which won’t take you more than 15-20 minutes. Schedule a 20-minute slot in your day for the next 21 days. I promise that 20 minutes a day will be completely enough for you to move forward and make best use of Coming Home without feeling overwhelmed.

On the other hand, even though I designed Coming Home with daily reflection in mind, it is okay to skip a few days. If you are unable to keep up for any reason, just come back and pick up from where you have left because taking baby steps at your own pace always works the best!

Also, expect to feel some resistance as you make progress. That is because the material is designed to take you deeper into yourself and have you ask difficult questions. It is normal to feel resistance. Do your best to show up anyway.

You probably know that a fresh environment away from your responsibilities and routines creates the space for fresh thinking to emerge. So, where are you most easily inspired? The seaside, the forest, a quiet café? Or your favorite armchair at home? Remember, there is no "right" answer. There’s only what works for you.

So, are you ready? Gather your tools: a beautiful journal, a sketch pad if you are a visual person, colored pens or your Sharpies, a cup of tea or coffee, and a comfy seat—whatever it is that will support you on this journey back home to yourself.
"People may call what happens at midlife a crises, but it's not. It's an unraveling—a time when you feel a desperate pull to live the life you want to live, not the one you're 'supposed' to live. The unraveling is a time when you are challenged by the universe to let go of who you are supposed to be and embrace who you are."

What Previous Participants Have Said

“After taking Cigdem’s Coming Home class, I feel way more focused than ever. The prompts helped me gain perspective, more awareness, and really, more empowerment to dare achieve my goals and dreams. “I recommend the Coming Home program as a wonderful way to look and access what has been but also as a way of looking forward to envision what could be. My life has never been more meaningful than when I took Coming Home. It gave me ‘permission’ to go inside without feeling selfish or narcissistic.” — NANCY

“This has been one of my most challenging years ever. I’m looking forward to stepping into the space of this program and and focusing more on what I want to feel rather than focusing on running my business.” — VICKY

This is an on-demand program you can take in your own time and at your own pace from the comfort of your home.
